GRIMBERGEN - DOUBLE AMBRÉE - Amber Ale 33cl
APPEARANCE: Dark color. AROMA: Caramel, dried plums and malt. MOUTH: Full-bodied beer with a pronounced bitterness. In addition to the dominant licorice and caramel there are aromas of roasted malt, bitter orange, ripe fruit and macerated prunes. AFTERTASTE: Persistence of roasted malt, licorice and prunes. The caramelized sugar syrup that produces the color gives this beer a fruity plum flavor and a slight bitterness.
The Grimbergen beer recipe has stood the test of time and has become an intense beverage with an unmatched character. Authentic, contrasted, unique and complex, with multiple aromas, the phoenix beer gives rise to unexpected flavors that reveal themselves with every sip. The monks of Grimbergen put all their efforts into rebuilding the abbey and keeping their brewing expertise alive over the centuries. Over time, new beers have been created to suit all tastes, but the original beer is still alive and its inner fire is still burning.
