After 65 years without brewing any new beer, Abbey Notre-Dame de Rochefort unveils a new Trappist beer, the Triple Extra. From 1920 to 1923 the Abbey produced a strong beer named Forte Bière Blonde Extra, 100 years later here is the new Rochefort Triple Extra.
The Abbey of Notre Dame de Saint Rémy de Rochefort, located in the Rochefort region of Belgium, is an iconic Trappist brewery. Founded in 1230, this Cistercian abbey has acquired a worldwide reputation for the exceptional quality of its Trappist beers. The abbey brewery produces three main beers: Rochefort 6, Rochefort 8 and Rochefort 10. Each of these beers has its own personality and complexity, offering a unique taste experience to beer lovers. Rochefort 6 is a lighter beer, with delicate fruity and spicy notes. Rochefort 8 is more robust, offering aromas of dried fruits, caramel and spices. Finally, Rochefort 10 is a strong and powerful beer, with intense flavors of malt, chocolate, dark fruits and yeast. What distinguishes Rochefort beers, in addition to their exceptional taste, is the tradition and know-how with which they are brewed. The production of these Trappist beers is entirely carried out by the monks of the abbey, respecting centuries-old artisanal methods. Each stage of production is carried out with care, from the selection of ingredients to fermentation in oak vats. The beers of the Abbaye Notre Dame de Saint Rémy de Rochefort are highly prized by connoisseurs around the world. They are often described as "tasting beers", intended to be savored slowly to fully appreciate their aromatic complexity. If you have the opportunity to taste these authentic Trappist beers, you will discover a true brewing treasure, the result of a long monastic tradition.
