Mc CHOUFFE Full of character, Mc CHOUFFE delights dark beer lovers around the world. Its distinctive flavor, dark ruby color and thin creamy coat make it a unique beer. Mc CHOUFFE is also characterized by its spicy flavors of anise and licorice, superbly complemented by full-bodied caramel notes. Despite its robustness, Mc CHOUFFE is surprisingly smooth. It even reveals delicious fruity notes, especially pear, as well as a very light touch of bitterness at the end of the palate. With its 8% alcohol, like LA CHOUFFE, Mc CHOUFFE is appreciated with the same lightness as its blonde big sister.
The Achouffe brewery: where it all began The story begins in the late 1970s, in the heart of the Vallée des Fées (Fairy Valley), when two brothers-in-law, Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts, decided to create their own beer in the garage of Chris' mother-in-law. With what little money they had at the time, they started what brewery fans now call the "CHOUFFE Story". On August 27, 1982, the first 49-liter beer was produced.
