Sierra Nevada California IPA is a light golden Session IPA with a fluffy white foam and high retention. Strong aromas of pineapple, melon with hints of lemon and grapefruit citrus. The taste is clean and light with a fruity, tropical sweetness and moderate bitterness with a light, crisp and somewhat dry finish.
Ken Grossman grew accustomed to pursuing his curiosity. His early years of backyard experimentation and undercover science projects paved the way for the ultimate discovery: home brewing. Fascinated by the alchemy of fermentation, Ken opened The Home Brew Shop in Chico, slowly experimenting with more hoppy flavors at a time when American beer was not known for taking risks. When he finally opened a brewery, Ken scoured junkyards and abandoned dairies to find the tanks, pipes and valves he needed to hand-build the original Sierra Nevada brewhouse. On November 15, 1980, he put his first batch of craft beer to the test. That heady stout was a 13-hour labor of love and, after one sip, he knew he had a good one. The Pale Ale that followed sparked a true craft beer revolution. The adventure never stopped and our curiosity continues to grow.
