MoreDubbel style is a Belgian beer style characterized by its dark color and malty, sweet taste. The style was created by Trappist monks at Westmalle Abbey in the 1920s and has become popular around the world. Dubbel beers tend to have a higher alcohol content than other Belgian beers and have a complex, fruity flavor with notes of caramel, chocolate and nuts.
Our Lady of the Fountain Abbey was founded in 1899 and is one of only 12 Trappist abbeys worldwide that can use the "Authentic Trappist Product" label on their beers. The abbey is known for its cheese and beer production and follows the principles of the Rule of St. Benedict. Zundert Trappist 10 beer is brewed in the abbey's brewery, which is run by Trappist monks and employs most of the abbey's workers.
In terms of awards, Zundert Trappist 10 has won several gold medals in international beer competitions, including the World Beer Awards in 2014 and the Brussels Beer Challenge in 2015.
Zundert Trappist 10 is a perfect beer to pair with grilled meats, strong cheeses and chocolate desserts. It is recommended to serve it in a suitable glass at a temperature of 12-14°C to fully enjoy its complex flavors and aromas.
