Beer with an authentic Bruges flavor, of mixed fermentation, which makes it a surprising beer, due to the original blend of top-fermented black beer with the best spontaneously fermented lambic (matured for months in oak barrels). This roasted red beer is characterized by its round and smooth taste. Dark brown in color with reddish reflections and abundant foam. With fruity aromas of cherry and apple, also reminiscent of wine. To the taste with notes of caramel and bread, with an acidic impression of wine (which derives from the somewhat "lambic" character of this beer) and slightly. It alternates sweet and bitter, dry tones, forming in the mouth an unmistakable reminder of its noble character. The touch of acidity typical of lambic beers is unmistakable, but is then balanced by the sweetness of the malts. You will notice the character that barrel aging has given this beer.
John Martin is the name of a brewery in Genval (Walloon Brabant), Belgium, founded in 1909 by the English entrepreneur John Martin (1886-1966). It is a family business and is currently run by his grandson, Anthony Martin. In addition to brewing Belgian-style beers, the company also imports British and Irish beers and produces soft drinks for Schweppes under license. It is the oldest Guinness distributor in the world. In 1993, the company bought Timmermans Brewery, a lambic brewery in Itterbeek founded in 1702. In 2015, the company opened the new Brasserie de Waterloo in Mont Saint Jean. In 2016, it opened the Bourgogne des Flandres brewery in Bruges.
