This distinctive type of beer was originally brewed to withstand the abuses of bad weather shipments to Imperial Russia. It was a favorite of the Russian nobility, whose taste for the finest food and drink was world famous. A rich and flavorful beer; deep chocolate in color with a roasted barley nose and a flavor that is a complexity of malt, hops, alcohol and yeast. Fermented in 'stone Yorkshire squares'.
Yorkshire's oldest brewery - est. 1758 Samuel Smith brews a wide range of high quality beers, using only real, natural ingredients.
