Brewed with well water (the original Old Brewery well, sunk in 1758, is still in use, and the hard well water is drawn from 85 feet underground); the finest barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in "Yorkshire stone squares" to create a relatively dry beer with a rich nutty color and a palate of beech, almonds and walnuts.
Samuel Smith's Brewery has been brewing high quality organic craft ale, lager and fruit beers since 1758 in Tadcaster.
