L'Abbaye des Rocs 1979 Brune (vol.alc. 9%) is a pure malt beer, without added sugar. All the tones of taste are directly linked to the phenomenon of double fermentation, precise dosages of malts (7 types). Its color is papal, dark ruby and majestic. Its taste is rich and full of finesse. It is tasted like a red wine which it also shares in common the color without the tannin. It develops a very powerful aroma of sweet hints. It confirms the initial impression on the first palate, however enveloped in addition to a body of deep bitterness but well balanced with a certain fruitiness. It emancipates itself on the palate, and develops an impressive density of flavor. The aftertaste is very prolonged thanks to its dense and creamy development in the mouth.
Spliced La Brasserie de l'Abbaye des Rocs is the first microbrewery in Belgium. Founded in 1979 by Jean Pierre Eloir, the brewery is a family business acquired in 1991 by Nathalie Eloir and her partner Georges Levecq. Today the brewery produces almost 2000 hl of pure malt beer every year!
