Rodenbach Classic sets the bar for reddish-brown Flemish beers. This beer owes its sweet-sour fruity character and refreshing taste to the fact that it is partly matured in oak barrels.
In 1821, Alexander, Gregoor, Pedro and Amalia founded the brewery. However, it is thanks to Eugène Rodenbach that Rodenbach owes its unique quality and masterful character. He not only studied the vinification of the beer, but also optimised the maturation process in oak foeders (maturation barrels). The world-famous foeder halls with their 294 oak foeders, some of which are 150 years old, are protected as industrial heritage of the Flemish Community. Out of concern for the Belgian beer heritage, Palm Breweries becomes steward of Brouwerij Rodenbach. The building complex and the foeder halls are restored. The visitors' centre with a museum function about the unique Rodenbach family and the unique Rodenbach beer is officially inaugurated on 23 June 2000. In January 2002, the new ultramodern brewing hall is put into use.
