Highly appreciated by connoisseurs, Houblon CHOUFFE is a powerful beer: 9 ° alc./vol., with a bitter and fruity taste. To rediscover the bitterness of IPAs, we add three types of hops to our beers: Tomahawk, Saaz and Amarillo. Houblon CHOUFFE is the first Belgian IPA. While tasting this magnificent beer you will appreciate its subtle grapefruit note. This beer is also very popular in culinary preparations.
The Achouffe brewery: where it all began The story begins in the late 1970s, in the heart of the Vallée des Fées (Fairy Valley), when two brothers-in-law, Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts, decided to create their own beer in the garage of Chris' mother-in-law. With what little money they had at the time, they started what brewery fans now call the "CHOUFFE Story". On August 27, 1982, the first 49-liter beer was produced.
