Trappe Tripel is a classic Trappist beer with a powerful and intense flavor. This beer also has a sweet candy sugar character and a mild barley flavor.
Foundation of the Abbey of Our Lady of Koningshoeven In the Brabantine village of Berkel-Enschot, the French Trappist monks found a place of retreat. It was a simple meadow with a few farmhouses and a sheepfold. The group of houses was named Koningshoeven (Dutch for "the king's farms") after its previous owner, King Wilhelm II. On March 5, 1881, the stable, which was converted into a temporary monastery, was the site of the first mass. That day has remained the founding date of the abbey.
