Trappe Dubbel is a classic Trappist beer with a dark tone and intense barley and caramel flavor, with subtle sweet hints of dates, honey and dried fruits. Classic dark Trappist beer with intense flavor.
Foundation of the Abbey of Our Lady of Koningshoeven In the Brabantine village of Berkel-Enschot, the French Trappist monks found a place of retreat. It was a simple meadow with a few farmhouses and a sheepfold. The group of houses was named Koningshoeven (Dutch for "the king's farms") after its previous owner, King Wilhelm II. On March 5, 1881, the stable, which was converted into a temporary monastery, was the site of the first mass. That day has remained the founding date of the abbey.
