Casar de Burbia Godello represents the winery's first white wine, and although it was the beginning of a new line, it is by no means the simplest. The commitment to the Godello variety was born with the intention of producing white wines with a remarkable aging potential. This wine comes from the middle zones of the Valdepiñeiro and Valdaigas vineyards, located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level on clay soils with medium-sized stones. The must undergoes cold pre-maceration and then ferments at low temperature in stainless steel tanks for about 45 days. This is followed by extended aging on fine lees for eight to nine months, a process that provides greater aromatic complexity and volume on the palate. The result is a smooth, fleshy and persistent Godello, with an expressive aromatic palette in which notes of peach, mango and grapefruit stand out.
After buying a total of 52 plots and gathering 27 hectares of high quality vineyards in Bierzo, Nemesio, accompanied by his three sons, began to make his first wines, learning and evolving with each vintage, with the aim of creating quality wines and limited production. He is accompanied by his three sons, mainly Isidro, who in addition to studying agricultural engineering and enology, shares his love for the family project and his enthusiasm to take Bierzo to the highest levels. That year, in Casar de Burbia we released our first bottled vintage under the DO Bierzo seal.
