In the Pincerna red wine, the premise that the work of the young vines is to bring aroma to the wine is perfectly fulfilled. Sourced from vineyards between 20 and 30 years old, this Leon prieto picudo wine undergoes both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. As a young red wine, it is balanced throughout: attractive color, aromas of fresh fruit (black plum, blackberry, cherry) and also ripe fruit (very ripe strawberry, quite ripe cherry), and a pleasant sensation of roundness in the mouth. The Pincerna young red is a very good option if you are thinking of buying a prieto picudo wine at an affordable price and an interesting quality.
Tasting notes: Cherry red with violet tones. Very personal and expressive. Red fruits, blueberries and wild berries with hints of licorice and eucalyptus. In the mouth it is very tasty, with a slight touch of bitterness. Pleasant aftertaste.
Food pairing recommendations: Oily fish, semi-cured cheeses, pasta, pork, duck and veal. Stews.
The Pincerna Winery in León is linked to a family dedicated for generations to viticulture. The project springs from the old winery Villacezán, in Gordoncillo, belonging to the García Luengos family and recently joined the winery Espinosa, in Grajal de Campos, a unique place declared BIC (Bien de Interés Cultural), which represents the historic wine capital.
