"Švyturio" Ekstra" (5.2%) is a Dortmunder/European export beer, whose recipe was created in 1995 by Švyturio's head brewer, Džuljeta Armonienė. It is the first Lithuanian beer to receive an international award and received the gold and silver medals of the World Beer Cup and the Gold Medal of the Stockholm Beer Festival. "Ekstra" is a golden, fruity beer with a thick, dazzling white foam that graces the glass. It is brewed from barley malt, rice, bittering and aromatic hops, brewer's yeast and fresh water. Very popular due to the balanced intensity and lightness of the flavor, which is enlivened by the barely perceptible bitterness of the hops. As soon as it appeared on the market, Švyturio Ekstra became and remains the most popular draft beer in Lithuanian restaurants and bars, as it is served in pubs as unpasteurized live beer.

After working with the selected brewing giant from across the Atlantic, The Brooklyn Brewery, they built a modern brewery in Klaipėda: Švyturys Brewery. The map of craft beer culture in Lithuania is expanding: after Nya Carnegiebryggeriet (Sweden) and EC Dahls Bryggeri (Norway) breweries, this is the third investment of The Brooklyn Brewery and Carlsberg Group in Europe. And the first in Lithuania.
