Colmo Teita Rye Lager has a translucent golden appearance, the somewhat lazy foam finally results in a short-lived white half-layer. The aroma is mild and offers hints of malt and caramel. The aroma is smooth and offers hints of malt and caramel. Lighter than the aroma is the drink, slightly watery, with a sweet base and notes of cereal, bread and caramel, peppery spices on the finish. Closes with low bitterness and a simple, sweet and spicy aftertaste. Not bad. Compliant as a Lager and has that little bit of rye, perhaps a bit discreet. Or at least the idea of Rye Lager seemed more suggestive.
A project linked to the land, to a region with natural diversity and rich heritage such as the Ancares, an area straddling two regions, Galicia and León, which has been going through a complicated time for decades due to depopulation, lack of job opportunities and aging. In this context, Cervezas Colmo was born in 2019, a project with the main objective of making a beer but using rye, a cereal linked to the territory and with the proposal to contribute to the recovery of the historical and architectural heritage of the region.
