MoreDiebels Alt beer is a German altbier style beer, originally from the city of Issum, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was created in 1878 by Johannes Diebels and since then has maintained great popularity in the region.
Diebels Alt is brewed with a blend of roasted and unroasted barley malts and aromatic hops, and is fermented at higher temperatures than lagers, giving it a more pronounced malty flavor and aroma and a fruity character. It has an alcohol content of 4.9% and a moderate bitterness of around 30 IBU.
The brewery that produces Diebels Alt is Brauerei Diebels GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 1878 by Johannes Diebels. Today, the brewery is owned by the InBev brewery and continues to produce Diebels Alt beer using the traditional methods and high quality ingredients that have made it famous.
