The first recorded references to this brewery date back to 1680, when it was a farm brewery and at the same time a distillery, located in the town of Lembeek, the birthplace par excellence of lambic beers. Specialized in the production of spontaneously fermented lambic beers, in 1975 it passed into the hands of Frank Boon, who gave it its current name.

Oude Kriek Boon is one of the finest examples of the 100% spontaneous fermentation fruit-Lambic style. 400g of wild cherries are fermented together with a blend of young and old Boon-Lambic that has been aged in oak casks. The Oude Kriek is bottled and refermented, it is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurized.
