LA CHOUFFE reveals citrus notes on the palate, followed by a refreshing, pleasantly spicy touch, which gives it a great lightness. This lightly hoppy golden beer was the first to emerge from the cellars of the Brasserie d'Achouffe brewery 40 years ago, and since then, its unique, award-winning flavors have won over beer lovers the world over!
The Achouffe brewery: where it all began The story begins in the late 1970s, in the heart of the Vallée des Fées (Fairy Valley), when two brothers-in-law, Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts, decided to create their own beer in the garage of Chris' mother-in-law. With what little money they had at the time, they started what brewery fans now call the "CHOUFFE Story". On August 27, 1982, the first 49-liter beer was produced.
