Forest honey is a raw honey, obtained at the end of the summer. It comes from a combination of oak honeydew, in a high percentage, and nectar from other flowers such as blackberry. The result is a honey with a very elegant character, which highlights its smooth texture and aroma. Own production, extracted in a traditional way, cold. Obtained in the region of Omaña, in the Biosphere Reserve of the Valleys of Omaña and Luna, in León. Appearance: Amber to dark amber. Palate: Toasted, licorice, tropical fruits. Sweet, with clear salty notes. Nose: Woody, dried fruits, sherry, malty. Our Miel de Bosque has been awarded with: ONE STAR in the prestigious gastronomic contest GREAT TASTE AWARDS 2022. GOLD MEDAL at the LONDON INTERNATIONAL HONEY AWARDS 2022. ONE STAR at the prestigious GREAT TASTE AWARDS 2023.
Despite the passage of time and the evolution of production techniques, this company continues to work in the traditional way, taking its products "from the hive to the table" so that they reach the consumer in their most natural state: without additives and preserving all their properties. They carry out tastings by blooms in order to identify the different types of honey, which are then subjected to a pollen analysis to verify their specific characteristics. They only pack what they produce themselves, which means that their production is limited but carefully controlled. Among the products they offer are different types of honey such as forest (oak), mountain (heather) and chestnut. In addition, they have other products from the hive such as pollen -in multi-flower and chestnut varieties-, honey cream, propolis tincture and honey candies filled with propolis.
