It all began in 1698, when the mayor of Faversham acquired the monastery brewery in his town. He then started a family business, with a special focus on Near Ales and filtered beers through the tradition of his recipes and a top quality product. The Crown of British beer is still going strong with 350,000 hectoliters a year.
