La Tripel van Westmalle es una cerveza trapense clara y de color amarillo dorado con una graduación de 9,5°. El lento proceso de elaboración y la fermentación secundaria en botella producen una cerveza compleja, con un aroma afrutado a plátano maduro y una hermosa nariz con matices de lúpulo. El sabor suave y cremoso, con un toque amargo que lleva el aroma de la fruta, tiene mucha finura y elegancia. Disfrute también del postgusto maravillosamente largo y seco. Los conocedores de cerveza llaman a veces a la Tripel de Westmalle la “madre de todas las tripel”. Esto se debe a que la primera Tripel se elaboró dentro de los muros de la abadía en 1934.
The brewery is very modern, but still completely adapted to the traditional brewing process. At Westmalle therefore aim for a balance between innovation and tradition . They apply the latest techniques, but still want to see, test and taste everything themselves. The brewery is located within the walls of the Trappist abbey. The brothers determine the policy and supervise its implementation. They use the income to live on and to reinvest in the brewery. What remains, they share with other abbeys of the order and donate to charities.
