The 15-20% of Pincerna Sumiller's prieto picudo grapes come from very old vines, and are blended with prieto picudo from a younger vineyard, 25-30 years old. The old vineyard part represents the soil, that singular touch, and the young vineyard part provides the aromatic fraction. For the aging of this León prieto picudo wine, two different types of oak wood have been carefully selected to provide greater complexity. After a period of between five and seven months in barrel, it is rounded off in the bottle before being released to the market.
