Rafael Rubio and Carmen Sarasa created the company in 1968 in Andosilla, Navarra. Rafael was well acquainted with the world of olives. His father, of Andalusian origin, knowledgeable about the processes of olive production and the construction of bocoyes (wooden barrels similar to barrels, but larger) used for the fermentation and preservation of olives, moved to Navarra due to the growing demand for their manufacture for the export of peppers to the USA, where he met the woman who would become his wife and Rafael's mother. Rafael's know-how, inherited from his father, and Carmen's obsession for quality and detail in each product, established the essence of SARASA.
