The origin of this family winery dates back to the last century, in the early 20's. It was then when the founder of Bodegas Peláez, Baltasar Peláez, began with the old profession of muleteer, making his own wine and taking it with a herd to sell to the mountains of León, accompanied by his two sons, Tomás and Baltasar. In later years, they built a traditional underground winery in Grajal de la Ribera, which is still in use today.
